+ What is Yakisugi?

The word yakisugi means “to heat cypress with fire”. This ancient Japanese process was performed to preserve wood from the effects of decay. We fell in love with the technique for the connection it demands with the materials and of the hauntingly beautiful effect the process has on the wood.

We burn the wood long enough to achieve a deeply charred surface creating the characteristic undulating crackle.

The first of its kind in existence today, we hope you appreciate the artistry and tradition that goes into each pair of our Yakisugi speakers.

Production will be limited to 20 sets per year, and each run will be released in small quantities at intervals throughout the year in order to maintain the highest level of quality.

+ How does "pre-order" work?

Due to the care and time that go into each speaker, we offer speakers in limited runs released a few times throughout the year. This small-batch process ensures that every speaker that leaves our shop is exactly the way it should be. Periodically we may have limited quantities available in-stock for purchase instead of pre-order. Those will be announced via our Instagram and Newsletter.

+ How do I apply for AFFIRM financing?

AFFIRM is only available on speaker purchases. Use the CHECK OUT WITH AFFIRM button at the bottom of the individual speaker product pages.

+ Do you sell wholesale?

Currently we do not have capacity for large wholesale orders. We intend to remain a small-batch, small-growth company for the foreseeable future. However, we may be able to accommodate small bulk and/or retail orders periodically if our production schedule allows for it. Please reach out with your inquiry Retail Order Inquiries.

+ Do you take custom orders?

While we do not take custom orders, we will be introducing new finishes and wood types in the future. New designs will be announced periodically through our Newsletter and Instagram. NOTIFY ME.

+ Where can I hear the speakers?

While we do not currently have a brick and mortar location to hear our speakers, listening to the speakers in your own home with your own setup might be the next best thing (and we think might be even better). We offer a full refund on the speakers if you don’t love what you hear. See our shipping and return policy FAQ.

+ Will High Moon speakers work with my current setup?

WILL THESE SPEAKERS WORK WITH MY VINTAGE SETUP?

If your vintage receiver is at least 30 watts per channel, you’ll absolutely be able to run our speakers. If you need help or suggestions with your setup, please let us help!

+ Where do you ship?

Shipping is included within the continental United States. Please email us for shipping quotes to Alaska or Hawaii. We do not currently ship internationally.

Our shipping materials do not include any plastic, foam, or non-recyclable materials. We care very much about the impact of plastic on our ecosystem and have chosen our packing materials for that purpose. Please recycle all of your packaging once you determine that you intend to keep your speakers.

We have worked with our shipping provider to offset the carbon footprint of shipping your speakers to you.

+ What is your return policy?

We want people to have the opportunity to listen to these speakers in their own environment and personal spaces. While we think you’ll love every aspect of our speakers and want to live with them forever, we do offer a full refund on undamaged speakers within 30 days of receipt if you decide for some reason that you want to return them. Returns must be in their original packaging. Please email us support@highmoonhifi.com to initiate the return process, if necessary.

WHAT DO I DO IF MY SPEAKERS ARE DAMAGED UPON RECEIPT?

Contact us immediately support@highmoonhifi.com and include photos of the damage that you see upon unboxing of your speakers.

DO YOU OFFER REPAIRS TO DAMAGED SPEAKERS?

We will replace damaged speakers free of charge. Customer is responsible for the cost of shipping. Contact us support@highmoonhifi.com to initiate the process. Please include photos of the damage if the damage is physical. If the damage does not appear to be visible, please describe the issue you are noticing and we will try to help you resolve your issue or initiate a return for repair if necessary.
